High Praise from A Happy Client

Note: When I asked Corey to describe his experience working with me, I wasn’t expecting this. I’m truly grateful for each and every client, and when I read things like this it’s incredible to be a part of someone’s journey to reach success beyond success. I left a career I didn’t love to be a psychologist and a coach, and most people told me I was crazy, and I’d regret it. Well, not even close. Hearing these stories means so much to me. My clients are amazing!

A Little About Me

I am a marketing consultant and entrepreneur who has owned several businesses. I have an insatiable drive to provide value, am a lifelong personal-growth student and always look for ways to be better than the week before (personally and professionally).

Background Story: Before Working With Dr. Jan Newman

I am a constant learner because I feel I can be and do better – I set high expectations for myself, am a perfectionist, and work hard to accomplish the goals I set for myself.

I have studied all kinds of self-help, personal growth, productivity, life hack, and similar things over the last 20+ years. In addition, I have read books from authors like Tony Robbins, Brian Tracy, James Clear, Stephen Covey, Brene Brown, Napoleon Hill, David Allen, John Maxwell, Jack Canfield, Jim Collins, Dale Carnegie, Daniel Kahneman, and dozens of others.

I also take online courses, do the occasional weekend warrior self-help intensive, read blogs, and listen to podcasts.

Why Am I Doing All This Stuff? What's The Point?

I want more time, energy, and money to be more productive, have better relationships with my friends and family, be healthier, be happier, reduce stress, and so on.

The point is that I am missing things in my life that could help me be a better person, more productive, or at least happier than I am currently.

I am at Point A; I want to be at Point B. So, I am looking for things to help me get to Point B.

Hitting the Wall: Reality Check – WTF Moments of Clarity

After countless attempts to improve my habits, be happier with myself, have better relationships, get in shape, have more energy or be more productive – I reached the same conclusion – the solution is NOT in the book, blog, or article I just read.

I've tried dozens of mental techniques, tactics, hacks, best practices, whatever, and I am NOT getting the results I am looking for and expect.

What in the hell is going on here?

I have consumed massive amounts of personal and business growth knowledge from all the industry-leading authors/books in the self-help, personal growth, and business categories.

I have tried all kinds of tips, tricks, hacks, advice, techniques, etc. – and I am not making progress here. (It may work for a short time, then I fall flat, and I'm back to where I started.)

This is incredibly frustrating, time-consuming, and disappointing.

I am better than this. So why can't I get this to stick? What am I missing here? What am I doing wrong?

It's not working.

I'm at a loss on what to do next to achieve the levels of personal growth I am looking to accomplish.

What I've been doing for decades is not helping – WTF?

I have hit the proverbial wall.

Enter Dr. Jan Newman

Ok… I told myself: "it's time to get some real help… no more books, blogs, articles, courses, etc. – I need someone who can help me to achieve my growth objectives."

I am so tired of chasing things I think will help me, and I end up right back to where I started.

I need help.

I don't need help from a self-proclaimed life coach whose experience is based on fluff and guesses.

I need a heavy-hitter…I need a real ass-kicker… a high-performance coach who is authentic, caring, experienced, has all the credentials/certifications and is results-driven.

After doing some Google research, I found Jan's website. I read her credentials and some of her blogs – I was very impressed, to say the least!

Getting To Work: 3-Months Engagement With Dr. Jan

I met weekly with Jan for 12 sessions (one session per week for three months).

Each week consisted of a 60-minute Zoom call and homework/exercises to do before the next call.

Jan's approach to coaching is unique. She customizes her approach and techniques to each person. (And she doesn't follow a cookie-cutter, linear process.)

The whole process starts with Jan helping you get clear about what's important to you and what you really want to get accomplished with your time together.

From there, it's about bringing reality to your current life's situation – helping you to become accurately self-aware of YOU – and believe me – it takes an extraordinary person to be able to help you become crystal clear on YOU – and do it in a way that does not tear your down or make you defensive.

Next up is helping you determine what your True Values are in life. I was shocked to learn how many so-called values I had inherited from others. Jan will lead you through simple exercises to uncover your authentic values – ones that are truly important to you.

The real heavy lifting is done through the ACT process. This is a highly systematic (and proven) process of helping you to get from Point A to Point B.

As you explore areas of your life you want to improve, things come up – you get angry, anxious, depressed, hurt, defensive, guilty, or at times you don't feel anything.

Jan and the ACT process help you navigate through all this.

Jan provides you a simple, step-by-step, proven, and repeatable processes to get you to where you want to be in your life.

(I'll let Jan give you more of an overview of her ACT and Coaching process and methodologies.)

3-Months Later: The Results - Positive, Forward Progress

At first, I was a bit skeptical because I had never worked with a High-Performance Coach before.

After the first four sessions, I was amazed at how much we accomplished together.

In only one Month, I was able to:

  • Get crystal clear on what areas I wanted to improve in my life.

  • Identify my top values in life.

  • Become accurately self-aware of my current life's situations – identify the things that were blocking me from moving forward in life.

  • Identifying common triggers that caused me to function in auto-pilot mode.

    • I discovered to what degree I was not present and reacted to everything around me.

  • Provide me with a simple process and framework to start reducing the harmful effects of being triggered all the time.

  • Focus on one area of my life that would have the most positive impact across all the areas in my life.

By the third Month's end, I have worked through some old issues that have prevented me from moving forward. I also started to make progress on some high-value growth objectives.

You must do the Work and remain self-aware – know what things trigger you and know ahead of time how you are going to respond, rather than knee-jerk react (auto-pilot).

I have made great progress in being more present in my life and not just defaulting to auto-pilot.

This has helped me improve my relationships with my family, friends, and clients.

I have developed solid morning and evening routines that help me become healthier, less stressed, or calmer.

I feel better overall.

In the past, I had a terrible case of the monkey mind and was constantly on the move – this is terribly exhausting and just not sustainable.

I have more focus now – and I spend more attention on the things that are important to me in life.

I still have days where I have setbacks, but that is all part of the process.

I know that if I apply and live by the proven techniques and processes Dr. Jan taught me, I will continue to make positive, forward progress.

Why I Recommend Dr. Jan Newman? Top Reasons:

If you are to take away anything from this testimonial, please read this section at least twice. (It provides insights and observations about Jan worth their weight in gold.)

  1. Authenticity - Jan is compassionate, caring, supportive, insightful, brilliant, highly observant, and an incredibly gifted coach. (In an industry with many imposters, Jan is the real deal!)

  2. Experience – 15+ years of experience working with high-performer business owners and entrepreneurs. (We are a unique group with particular demands and expectations of our coaches and colleagues.)

  3. Expertise - helping you be crystal clear about you and your triggers. This is a tricky one. It takes a very talented coach to get you to be truthful about yourself and things that trigger you but does it in a way that doesn't make you defensive, embarrassed, or angry.

  4. Inspiring and Empowering – Jan is a super encouraging coach and only wants what is best for you. She does this in a way that is not threatening and is very insightful and empowering.

  5. Accountable – Jan is not afraid to hold you accountable for the results of her coaching. However, it is up to you to apply what you learn and grow from this experience.

  6. Non-Judgmental – I am not sure how Jan does this, but she is a master of holding a “safe space” for you to tell it as it is to her without an ounce of judgment.

  7. Results-Driven – Don't get me wrong, Jan is very compassionate and supportive, but she also drives hard to get you the desired results.

  8. Customized To You – Each week is customized to what you want to get out of your session. It is not a linear process. Jan does an excellent job of managing your plan, tools, and processes used to move you forward.

  9. High-Value Knowledge and Insights – Jan leverages her extensive client experiences to bring cutting-edge tools, techniques, and processes to help you move from Point A to Point B.

  10. 100% Focus On You: During your sessions with Jan, she is 100% present and focused on helping you.

Helpful Advice to Maximize Your Results With Dr. Jan Newman:

Don't be a collector of knowledge; don't just "intellectualize" what you learn from Jan. You must apply what you learned, test it, see what happens and learn from the entire process and experience.

Do more with less. High achievers are doers and always busy. Do yourself a favor, remove lower-value items in your life, and spend more time in the high-value areas of your life. Get the biggest bang for your buck by applying ACT and other tools in the highest-valued areas.

Be vulnerable. Vulnerability is not a weakness, as it helps you clarify the areas and triggers where you need clarity and help.

Space and time. Give yourself adequate space and time to learn and apply what she teaches. (This may be challenging for some folks, but it is a deal breaker if you can't free up time to explore, test, and get results from ACT and other processes.)

Reset your level of expectations. This is a tricky one for high performers. You must give yourself space, time, and realistic expectations to succeed and fail as you move forward through the processes and techniques taught by Jan.

Focus on ONE thing that is the most important to start with. What is that ONE THING that, if you improved this in your life, would have the most positive impact across all dimensions? Master this one thing, then add one additional area of your life to focus on. Master this second area and then move to the third area, etc.

Final Thoughts and Comments:

I would recommend Jan to any high-performer seeking help to remove roadblocks, clarify what is important to them in life, and apply proven, systematic processes to improve areas and aspects of their life.

Jan is an incredibly gifted coach who can help you in many ways – from identifying your areas where you are blocked to applying the ACT and other processes and tools to help you make positive forward progress.

I’m a marketing professional, so yes, I’m totally going to say this. . .
